  • Therapy is a general term for treating mental health challenges by talking to a trained mental health provider using different evidenced based theoretical approaches. During this process you learn about emotional and psychological behaviors and patterns. Therapy can be beneficial by supporting you through life’s challenges and transitions by providing coping skills, resources and interventions helping you improve your life and meet your life’s goals.

  • While I would love to support everyone who seeks support from Compassionate Counseling & Support Services, there are limitations to who Therapist can treat virtually.

    You are NOT a candidate for tele-mental health counseling at Compassionate Counseling & Support Services, LLC, if you are currently endorsing suicidal or homicidal thoughts with an active plan or intent, attempted suicide in the past 2 years, admitted into a psychiatric hospital for mental health challenges in the last 5 years, hearing or seeing things that are not there, substance abuse behaviors, or eating disorders.   • As a licensed professional counselor, I am ethically bound to making sure what is discussed remains confidential. Compassionate Counseling & Support Services, LLC values and honors the confidentiality agreement, however, there are some barriers that could require breaching confidentiality. This includes if I suspect or a Client reports that they are an imminent risk or danger to themselves or others or in a Client reports elderly, child or disabled persons abuse I am a mandated reporter in the state of Georgia & Florida and by law I am required to report this information. Feel free to ask any additional questions in your screening form for further clarification during our phone call.

  • This is totally up to you to decide. I always encourage Clients to “shop” around for Therapists to determine who would be the best match. Most Clients choose Therapists based on their clinical experience, training, education and what they specialize in treating. Some important information to help you determine if I will be a good fit is I only treat Clients over the age of 18 that live in the state of Georgia & Florida. I only offer virtual therapy treating women’s challenges focusing on women of color including maternal mental health, life transitions such as becoming a new Mom, or a new wife, starting a new career, anxiety, depression, relationship or family challenges, grief/loss, self-esteem/self-worth/self-confidence challenges.   • Ethically, I can only treat Clients who reside in the state of Georgia or Florida.

  • The first session is the initial consultation where we will meet for the first time to start building a rapport to learn more about you and how I can support your needs. We will review some important practice policies and focus on identifying therapy goals and effective treatment methods. This session is about 55 minutes.

  • I am not certified in perinatal mental health yet, but I am trained in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International and plan to pursue my certification in the future. At this time, I am using my clinical training and experience to treat Moms.

  • Everyone comes to therapy for different reasons and with different goals, so the process of therapy will look different for everyone. In general, therapy sessions with me will involve: discussion of current stressors, your personal history, and your goals. The more involved you are in therapy sessions, the more likely you are to achieve results you want. However, change can be slow, frustrating, and at times difficult. Therapy is not easy, and there are no instant cure. I will stand support you through this process. I am committed to creating a collaborative, supportive, non-judgmental space. In time, relief from pain can occur, often followed by deeper levels of personal satisfaction.

  • I am currently in network with Anthem/Blue Cross & Blue Shield & Optum/United Healthcare. If you do not see your insurance listed that means I am out of network with your insurance provider. This does not mean I cannot provide you therapy services, but it does mean you will have to self-pay. If you have out of network benefits with your insurance provider, you may be eligible for possible reimbursement. This will require you to contact your insurance company to gather more information.

  • I offer self-investment options, also known as self-pay plans. My initial consultation also known as the intake session is $160 for a 55-60 minute session, every session after that is $130 for a 45 minute session and $155 for a 60 minute session. I am more than happy to discuss these options with you.

  • I only offer virtual therapy services at this time. This is done through a secure HIPAA compliant platform.

This will be further clarified in during the appointment scheduling process.
